The lecture will focus on the presentation of the studio and the philosophy that guides it. A series of photographs, drawings and renderings will flow freely, accompanying reflections on the world of contemporary architecture and the power it exerts on us and our well-being.

Building is no longer simply linked to the search for functionality or, on the other hand, aesthetic value, but is based on ecological principles - both in the strict sense and in the human sense, respecting the sensitivity of those who inhabit spaces. This leads to thinking about spaces as places, and not spaces, where thoughts, experiences and memories are built.

DAVIDE MACULLO

Davide Macullo (b. Giornico, CH, 1965) lives and works in Lugano, Switzerland. Studied art, architecture and interior design.
For 20 years (1990-2010) he was project architect in the atelier of Mario Botta with responsibility for over 200 international projects.
He opened his own atelier in 2000 and has realized around 800 projects in 49 countries. The ethos of the studio is one of ‘drawing from context’ and the various contributions promote a dialogue between the specificity of the project and the universality of the contexts.
The psychology of space orientation of the studio prioritizes human ecology and a conscious design approach that focuses on the power of space in raising emotions and connecting humans to nature.
