Maria R. Perbellini will give an open lecture to the public in the Aula Magna, presenting her interesting projects and research work as an academic and scientific part of the New York Institute of Technology.

She has been invited to the 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐈𝐈𝐈 entitled: 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬. Transforming Italian Architecture, as well as by FAU, to see the possibility of continuing bilateral cooperation between our two institutions.
Metamorphosis. Transforming Italian Architecture is supported by Festival Architettura III, promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.

Maria R. Perbellini holds a master’s degree in architecture from Pratt Institute. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University Institute of Architecture in Venice, Italy. Before joining New York Tech, she served as Associate Dean for Graduate Programmes in the College of Architecture at Texas Tech University (TTU), where she developed a curriculum for the Master of Architecture with four postgraduate certifications, as well as a post-professional Master of Science in Architecture with specialisations in digital design and fabrication, urban and community design, and design and health. He also coordinated the interdisciplinary doctoral programme in Land Planning, Management and Design. Perbellini has taught at various levels of architectural design studies and advanced technology courses for graduates. At TTU, he co-founded the digital design and digital fabrication programme for undergraduates. For several summers, he directed the study abroad programme in Verona, Italy. He also implemented a digital media sequence for undergraduates and digital workshops for postgraduates to support and supplement design and construction courses; this initiative had a significant impact on the pedagogical direction of the College of Architecture. Previously, Perbellini taught at the University of Texas at Austin and at Yeungjin Jr. College in Taegu, South Korea. Perbellini's research interests include parametric surface structures, the design process, digital design and fabrication, and intermediate architecture. She is a partner at Pongratz Perbellini, an internationally recognised multidisciplinary firm. Before starting her own practice, she worked for Peter Eisenman and John Reimnitz in New York, collaborated on the design of prestigious commissioned buildings, and participated in international and invited design competitions. A frequent exhibitor and speaker, Perbellini is co-author of numerous publications.
